What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is the treatment of a wide variety of injuries and conditions, with the aim of helping to restore or maintain movement and function.
Main approaches and treatments used in physiotherapy include:
- Education and Advice
- Exercises
- Manual therapy such as massage and joint mobilisations
- Electrotherapy i.e., ultrasound, TENS
- Taping
Common Conditions
- Soft-tissue injuries, sprains or strains
- Upper or Low back pain
- Neck pain
- Rehabilitation following trauma, fracture or surgery
- Sports injuries
- Postural concerns
- Arthritis
- Falls
- Neurological conditions such as Parkinsons, Stroke
Home Visits
Offered to clients who struggle to leave their home to access Physiotherapy services. Able to see clients in their own homes or care homes.
Common reasons to see clients within their own home:
- Reduced mobility
- Neurological i.e. Stroke, Parkinson's
- Falls and reduced balance
- Generalised strengthening and fitness
- Arthritis
- Following a hospital stay
- Post-surgery/Orthopeadic conditions
